MakerIQ Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MakerIQ, LLC (“MakerIQ,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, stores, shares and deletes information when you use getmakeriq.com, app.getmakeriq.com and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. MakerIQ uses YouTube API Services

MakerIQ uses YouTube API Services to retrieve publicly available information about YouTube channels, such as channel names, subscriber counts, view counts and video counts. By using MakerIQ, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms).

YouTube is a Google service. Google’s collection and use of information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy: http://www.google.com/policies/privacy

2. Information we collect

Account information you give us. Your name, email address, company name, password (stored in hashed form) and your subscription plan.

Your settings. The YouTube channels you choose to track, your competitor sets and your dashboard preferences.

Billing information. Payments are processed by [PAYMENT PROCESSOR]. We receive confirmation of payment, your plan and the last four digits of your card. We do not receive or store full card numbers.

Usage information. Pages visited, features used, browser type, device type, IP address and timestamps, collected through server logs and [ANALYTICS TOOL].

Public YouTube channel data. Through the YouTube Data API we retrieve public channel information (channel ID, channel name, subscriber count, total views, video count and upload activity). This is not information about you as a MakerIQ user. We do not ask you to sign in with your Google or YouTube account, and we never request, collect or store YouTube or Google login credentials.

3. How we use information

  • To provide the Service: tracking the channels you select, building your dashboards and generating exports.
  • To manage your account, trial and subscription, and to send service emails such as trial reminders, receipts and important changes.
  • To send product updates and marketing emails, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.
  • To maintain, secure and improve the Service.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. How we share information

We share information only as follows:

  • Service providers that host, operate or support the Service (website hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics), who may use it only to provide services to us.
  • Legal requirements, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety or property of MakerIQ, our users or others.
  • Business transfers, if MakerIQ is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply.

The competitor sets and dashboards you configure are visible only to you and users you authorize on your account.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

MakerIQ places cookies and similar technologies on your browser or device to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, protect against fraud, and measure how the Service is used [through ANALYTICS TOOL]. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may prevent sign-in from working. We do not allow third parties to serve advertisements on the Service.

6. How long we keep information

Account information is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days after you close your account, except where we must keep limited records (such as invoices) for legal or tax purposes.

YouTube API data is stored and refreshed in accordance with the YouTube API Services Developer Policies. Channel metadata such as channel names is refreshed at least every 30 days. Statistical data (such as subscriber, view and video counts) and MakerIQ’s own calculated metrics are retained for no longer than YouTube’s policies permit, up to a maximum of 36 months where YouTube has approved extended storage for MakerIQ. Data for channels that are deleted or made unavailable on YouTube is removed on our next refresh.

7. Deleting your data

You can delete your account and associated data at any time from your account settings, or by emailing [CONTACT EMAIL]. We will delete your stored personal data as soon as possible and within 7 days of your request, except for records we are legally required to keep.

Deleting data stored by MakerIQ does not affect any data stored by YouTube. To delete data on YouTube, use YouTube itself or an authorized application that supports deleting that data.

MakerIQ does not access your Google account. If you have ever granted any application access to your Google account, you can review and revoke that access at Google’s security settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit and restrict access to stored data to people who need it to operate the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Children

MakerIQ is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Your choices and rights

You can access, correct or export your account information from your account settings, unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email, and request deletion as described above. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; contact us to exercise them.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that affects how we use your information, we will notify you by email or in the app and ask you to accept the updated policy before continuing to use the Service.
